HEMP HYBRID

Based on the vast majority of information out there, Hybrids are basically a cross-breed (Hybridization) of a Cannabis Sativa and Indica plant. These practices of breeding the two types come all the way from the 60s in western US and Canada. Now the important part about these Hybrids is that they keep a balance in today’s demand and that’s because by having the traits combined the possibilities are endless of leveling out the different effects, of course there is always a factor of individuality in each person, each Endocannabinoid system is different.

Tracing the genetics of these Hybrid strains can become confusing, as popular strain resources now list nearly two thousand different strain names, each with its own unique genetic family tree. The more removed these Hybrids are from the original landraces, the more unique strains are involved in creating their genetics.

WHY ARE SOME HYBRIDS LABELED “SATIVA-DOMINANT” OR “INDICA-DOMINANT”?

Hybrids can be either Indica or Sativa-Dominant, meaning they will express the characteristics of the dominant parent with less characteristics of the secondary variety. For example, an Indica-Dominant Hybrid like Cookies will most likely affect the body and offer more sedating effects. A Sativa-Dominant Hybrid like Super Lemon Haze will lean toward energetic Sativa effects.
